Amplify BC Program Returns!

On June 1, 2020, the B.C. government announced a renewed investment of $7.5 million for Amplify BC

On June 1, 2020, the B.C. government announced a renewed investment of $7.5 million for Amplify BC to stabilize, support, and sustain B.C.’s music industry during the pandemic. The Province’s music fund, delivered by Creative BC, returns for its third year.


Amplify BC programs will deliver funding through four streams serving B.C. artists, live music presenters, music companies and the development of the music industry. 


The B.C. government established Amplify BC in 2018 and continues to launch programs each year after extensive consultations with the music industry. Creative BC also has established partnerships with Music BC and the First Peoples’ Cultural Council to support the development of B.C.’s music industry.  

 

This program supports BC-based live music events, creating engagement opportunities for audiences, artists and youth. In 2020/21, this program will provide one-time operational support  for venues, festivals and concert presenters affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in order to protect existing infrastructure and jobs.

This program supports innovative projects, platforms and services that address the needs of BC’s music industry in response to the pandemic. This funding is delivered as part of support for music companies in BC’s music industry. 

Opens June 17, 2020 | Rolling intake until September 2, 2020, or until funds are no longer available 


This program supports the sustainability, growth and capacity of BC’s music companies. In 20/21, this program will provide one-time operational support for music companies affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in order to protect existing infrastructure and jobs.

Opens July 15, 2020 | Deadline TBA


This program will support the development of BC’s music industry, funding projects that support training, skills development, export activities, business development, research and up-and-coming talent. 

Opens July 15, 2020 | Deadline March 1, 2021, or until funds are no longer available  


This program will support the careers of emerging and established artists in BC, funding sound recordings, music videos and marketing initiatives.

Opens September 2, 2020 | Deadline October 14, 2020


Funding through Record in BC for out-of-province and international artists is on hold until further notice.
